Her foster home has 4 dogs from a 15lb terrier to a 90lb shepherd and she plays great with all of them. Akasha can be slow to warm up to new people and it is important to not rush her when she is feeling timid. Once she warms up she is likely to be obsessed with you and want to be by your side constantly. LOVES a belly rub and does great for nail trims and grooming. She seems to warm up to kids faster than adults. Akasha loves her exercise time but also loves to snuggle up and relax. Katara is listed as a medium mixed breed, but you can definitely see the hound in her! She fits right in with the beagles she’s currently fostered with and is just about the sweetest, easiest-going girl you could ask for.

Katara is around 55 pounds and is working on losing a little weight. She’s estimated to be between 7 and 9 years old and has previously had surgery on her hind leg. Because of that, she would do best in a home without stairs and should not be encouraged to jump or do anything too crazy.

Meet Ariel! ❤️ Ariel is a 3½ year old, spayed mixed breed girl weighing around 30 pounds. We’re still trying to figure out exactly what breeds make up this adorable little mystery, but she does have one really cool feature, a Ridgeback style ridge of hair running along her back! Whatever her breed mix is, it definitely gave her some character. She could stand to put on a few pounds, and we’re working on helping her reach a healthy weight. Don’t let her age fool you. Ariel still has plenty of puppy energy! She’s playful, animated, and has a goofy personality that will keep you smiling. She’ll stretch herself out across your lap, belly crawl around like a little seal, or slowly slide off the couch cushions as if she’s completely melted. She is truly one of those dogs who is just fun to watch. Ariel is crate trained, housebroken, incredibly food motivated, and an absolute lover. She wants nothing more than to be with her person. As soon as you sit down, Ariel will be right at your side, ready to snuggle up with you. But she’s also perfectly happy to curl up in a dog bed nearby while you go about your day. Ariel has likely experienced some trauma in her past, and because of that, she needs someone who understands that trust takes time. She can be slow to warm up and may be especially timid around men at first. She does not feel safe when cornered, and sadly, she will sometimes cower if someone raises their voice or even raises a hand. Although Ariel can be scared, she never becomes aggressive. She simply shuts down and needs a little time and reassurance to feel safe again. But Ariel isn’t looking for perfection. She’s looking for patience, kindness, and someone willing to show her that she is finally safe. Once Ariel realizes she can trust you, you’ll see the real her come out. She is a loving, affectionate, obedient, goofy girl who just wants to be your best friend.
